DREAMS OF BUKOVYNA - 2018 FUNDRAISING
April 6 UPDATE
To date we have raised $1,706 dollars which means that almost 11 kids will be going to the camp and we will also be able to purchase 5 backpacks for kids. We are extremely thankful for all your support and donations and are hopeful that we will be able to send more kids.

As a goal for this year's fundraiser we are providing people with 3 OPTIONS which they can choose from in order to help out with this project.
1. The first option is to help raise funds to send children from orphanages to this camp for 12 days. The general cost for each child is $150 dollars and that includes transportation to and from the camp, accommodations at the resort and all meals during their stay. If not for public donations, these children won't be able to attend camp as there is no subsidized funding that is provided to these children.
2. The second option is the ability to grant a child's wish. Every year, each participant at the camp is asked to write a letter containing their wishes which they would like to be granted. Then during the months of March, April and May, people from all over the world "claim" a wish or many wishes and purchase the items that the child is asking for. During the last day of camp, in June, when all the kids are gathered in a gymnasium, each child is asked to come up on stage and receive their item(s) they wished for.

3. The third option is for a donation of $20 dollars, we will purchase on your behalf an orthopedic backpack which will be given to as many kids as we raise funds for as a special gift on behalf of Stream of Hopes and all of our supporters and contributors.

Last year we were able to sponsor 25 kids to go to camp, let's see if we can send more this year. In total, we collected $4,750 dollars plus granted 12 wishes. Can we push ourselves this year to do more? LET'S TRY!

“In total, we collected $3,750 dollars which sent 25 kids to the summer camp. We also granted 12 wishes and additionally raised $1,000 dollars which were used to purchase 10 bicycles. Thank you to everyone for this amazing support and all your help in making this project once again a total success!”
This year we have embarked on yet another fundraiser for this wonderful cause that's been now running for 9 years straight. Last year we managed to raise quite a lot of money and donations that were sent to kids in Ukraine. For details please see below.
As a goal for this year's fundraiser we are providing people with 2 OPTIONS which they can choose from in order to help out with this project.
St. Demetrius School in Toronto raised nearly $1,000 dollars last year, which went towards sponsoring tent, musical system and morning buns for the kids. This year they have indicated they will be participating again and to date have raised $450 dollars for this project, sponsoring 3 kids.
This is a very emotional flashmob during the last day of camp. Kids from orphanages singing about parents and about the fact that they are the future of Ukraine.

Below you will find pictures and short bio's of 20 kids whom we would like to send to camp. Our initial goal of 12 was crushed within two weeks. If we can send more, that's super.
These kids all live in orphanages and are considered either:
a) full orphans, b) half orphans - they may have a family but because they live below the poverty line, they are considered unable to live at home and are placed in an orphanage, c) children with disabilities - these are also usually placed into orphanages and may or may not have parents, but usually they won't see them.

Then during the month of April and May, people from all over the world "claim" a wish or many wishes and purchase the items that the child is asking for. During the last day of camp, in June, when all the kids are gathered in a gymnasium, each child is asked to come up on stage and receive their item(s) they wished for. Due to how long it will take for parcels to ship and arrive to Ukraine, we cannot send physical gifts anymore. Therefore:
We are raising funds to send to Ukraine, where based on the amount of money we have raised, letters will be selected on our behalf and dreams will be granted by purchasing the items in Ukraine.
As little as $5 dollars will ensure that a child leaves this camp with their dreams granted. Please consider helping out.

OUR BIGGEST DONATION DRIVE TO DATE!!!
Dearest Friends! WE are starting our biggest, most ambitious donation drive to date.
STARTING TODAY AND FOR THE NEXT THREE WEEKS (UNTIL APRIL 16, 2016), we are looking to collect:
toy cars (new)
dolls (new)
balls (soccer or volleyball new or used / deflated)
kids running shoes (new, any size)
Baseball caps
April 25, 2016 UPDATE
All of these donations are going to be distributed to kids at a huge week long festival "Dreams of Bukovyna" - where over 1,000 children will be gathered in the Carpathian Mountains in Ukraine and will be provided with games, food, entertainment and a getaway from their daily challenges of being sick, poor or orphaned!
Each child writes a letter of things they wish they could have and donors from all over the world claim letters and grant kids their wishes. Click HERE to access the letters containing each wish.
We felt that in addition to the children writing their letters, we could donate some items on behalf of everyone in Canada who is supportive of these children, thus the initiative to collect the above items.
