First Annual Fashion Show Fundraiser

In the summer of 2016, the group decided that it would be very useful and helpful for us to have some sort of fundraiser/community event that will get people out, that will help raise some money and continue helping the children in Ukraine that Stream of Hopes is working with. 

The event took place on December 6th, 2016 from 8:00 pm to 10:00 at Lucky Bastard Distillery on 47 St, right off Millar Ave. Below are some pictures of what transpired that wonderful and magical evening.

These are the items that were up for auction and raffle during our fundraiser.

Auction Feature 1, 2 & 3

These first three items are custom made accessories made by Miss Ukrainian Canada 2016 winner, Iryna Zhytaryuk.

Raffle Feature 4, 5, 6, 7, 8

Here are some more items that will be available during the evening as raffle prizes.  All of the funds raised will be going to help kids in Ukraine.

Auction Feature 9

This item was donated to us by Canadian Tire Preston Crossing. It's a Mastercraft 162 piece socket and wrench set. The worth of this item - $200 dollars.

Raffle Feature 11

Next item on our auction/raffle list is a gift from oneSt. Mortage. It's a collection of 4 pint glasses and a gift card to the liquor store for $50 dollars. Thank you for your donation!

AUCTION FEATURE 12

Next up on our auction list for the fundraiser evening on Dec 6th - TWO gift certificates worth $100 dollars each for general catering services from PickNic's Catering. Thank you PickNic's and Nicola Lawson for your donation. Someone is going to have some tasty food!

RAFFLE FEATURE 13

Next item up for our raffle on December 6th is a gift from Olenka Gaivoronska and her Hair Boutique Etre Belle Hair Boutique. This gift includes some wonderful body/hair products and a free haircut! Thank you Olenka for your support and generosity.

RAFFLE FEATURE 14 and 15

For our next two donation items that will be raffled off during our fundraiser evening we would like to thank Early's Farm and Garden Centre. These are two variety baskets stuffed with some goodies that will take the winter blues away and cheer up your holidays. Thank you to everyone at the Lorne Ave. location for this wonderful gift and your support. We truly appreciate it.

AUCTION FEATURE 16 and 17

These next two items for our auction come from Ukraine from an orphanage for kids with disabilities. Although they may look rugged, they have a lot of effort and love invested into them. Both have been handmade by kids from the orphanage. The embroidered picture and the picture frame are all hand made and the coaster has also been woven by hand. These kids are very talented and sell these items from time to time to get some spending money at the orphanages.

AUCTION FEATURE 19, 20 and 21

These three paintings have been hand painted by a little boy in Ukraine who is 6 years old and has cerebral palsy. His name is Elisey Kohan and he paints beautiful paintings as therapy and also donates them all over the world to raise money for kids who are sick, orphaned or disadvantaged. We received these three paintings from Ukraine and will be auctioning them off on December 6th to help us raise funds for kids in Ukraine.

AUCTION FEATURE 22+

We have another EPIC donation and support coming our way for the auction during the fundraiser event at LB Distillers. I was able to get a hold of a band, not just any band. They are now globally recognized for their sounds and music. They are up and rising on the charts everywhere. They are 3 time CASBY Award Winners, 3 time JUNO Award Winners and now supporters of our fundraiser through their amazing donation - THEY ARE - the Sheepdogs

That's right. The #Sheepdogs have donated what can probably be considered one of the ultimate fan packages for our auction.

2 Vinyls, 3 CD's all of which are super hard to come by and to top it all off a drum head from Sam Corbett's drum kit signed by the whole band! If you don't believe it, check out the selfie with Sam as I'm picking up the awesome gift.

This is a one of a kind opportunity for any music collector, or a fan of the band! We are so grateful and thankful to all members of THE SHEEPDOGS for showing their support to our organization as our fundraiser! We thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

AUCTION FEATURE 23

This auction item is another one of those "Dream" items, especially for wine connoisseurs! This ultimate wine package comes to us as a donation from Anita and Don Slobodzian and will be auctioned off during the fundraiser evening of December 6th. There is a bottle for every occasion and every preference :) We are truly thankful to Don and Anita for their longstanding support and this donation.

AUCTION FEATURE 24 & 25

These auction items come to us from PetSmart via Bob MacIntyre. We call them Feline Lover's Package and Canine Lover's Package. These awesome combinations of Martha Stewart's products are bound to make your four legged special friend fall even more in love with you. These will be up for auction on December 6th. Thank you Bob and PetSmart!

This next auction item comes from Revamp Salon on Broadway via Zennovia Belak an awesome hairstylist.

AUCTION FEATURE 27, 28 & 29

The next three items will go as three separate auction bids during our fundraiser evening and they come to us donated by Ukie Boutique - Iryna Matsiuk and Emma Nahaylo!

1. 1. The first item is a navy blue and white vyshyvanka. ($70)
2. 2. The second item is a linen summer dress with black and red embroidery ($70)
3. 3. The third item is a black with blue embroidered tank top - corset style ($35)

AUCTION FEATURE 30

Another item up for auction. This package comes to us donated by Kim Bryce and Jason Aebig. It is a one of a kind, original ceramic coffee mugs made by Saskatchewan's premier ceramist Mel Bolen. Mel Bolen is known worldwide for his work with practical ceramics and has a studio and workshop in Humboldt, SK. In addition to the coffee mugs, there is a $20 dollar gift card to Christie's Bakery and $20 dollar gift card to McQuarries. Thank you Kim and Jason for this one of a kind donation to our auction items.

This Tupperware Set was donated by Charmaine MacIntyre and is worth $115 dollars. Some lucky winner will have a quality brand new set for their holiday leftovers! Thank you Charmaine for your support and generosity.

This next set of accessories called (herdany). These are all hand made and come to us from Toronto. Smallest ones will be auctioned off in a combination of 3, then the rest will go as separate item. These add a beautiful touch to any clothing item and provide you with a classy touch to your wardrobe.

This lot comes to us from a great family, from a vary artistic and gifted mom of 4, you would never be able to tell that these are not real. These forever bouquets with a surprise tasty candy at the centre of each one come to us donated and hand made by Nataliia Garmasar. In addition to these, they also brought 4 boxes of tasty candies that will be raffled off. Thank you so much Nataliia!

GRAND PRIZE

Everyone who purchased a ticket and attends the evening, their ticket stub will be entered for this SUPER MEGA PRIZE. The package includes a CUSTOM made garment / dress by none other than Miss Ukrainian Canada 2016 winner, designer Iryna Zhytaryuk! Please see the attached flyer for details.
